The Enthusiast goes to Santarchy 2012!

Christmas time in San Francisco brought with it the epic pub crawl known as Santarchy. People from all around flocked to the city dressed in seasonal attire and got their drink seriously on. Here are but a few of the moments we captured. See even more on our Facebook page.

We went to the VICE Air launch party

—Josey

I was skeptical that this seasoned Enthusiast would enjoy drinking anything called “Air,” (something called “Blackout Water” sounds more my style) but for the first time in my life I was wrong.

Camp 77

From the short-shorts to the shorter-shorts; from the excessive, unseemly keg pumping to the excessive, unseemly whistle-blowing, campers and counselors alike went home crying from Camp 77 because it was so much fun they didn’t want to leave. And no, we really don’t think that’s an exaggeration. We drank Bug Juice, we danced, we roasted marshmallows, we stamped potatoes. We pumped. The. Keg. (Did we mention that yet?) Thanks to all the campers that made it out and the counselors that made it happen.

Christian’s Reno birthday

Anyone who claims to “hate Reno” has never been to Reno with your humble Enthusiasts. It was an amazing weekend and we can’t wait to go back! Here are a few of the photos.

We started the weekend at the rodeo. This is before we got escorted out by six marshalls because they thought we were underage…? Read more »

Fairfax Festival 2012

—Christian

Last weekend was Fairfax Festival and your humble enthusiasts made the annual pilgrimage up to Josey’s hometown to celebrate. For those who don’t know, Fairfax Festival is a town-wide party kicked off with a parade on Saturday morning (which our Friday night activities unfortunately precluded this year) and music both indoor and out through Sunday evening. We arrived late, but still got there in time to enjoy some of the regional brew.

Derby de Mayo

—Christian

We threw a party on Saturday to celebrate the rare congruence of Cinco de Mayo and Derby Day. To ensure we were properly lubricated, the Enthusiasts supplied Margaritas and Mint Juleps. And, with the help of Cashmere Agency we able to secure a sponsorship from none other than the legendary Pabst Blue Ribbon! (For those of you who know me, this is a momentous accomplishment, to be sure).

Happy Hour at Swig

—Christian

A couple weeks ago our friends at MetroWize offered your humble enthusiasts a hosted happy hour from Absolut. The brand has moved away from the iconic print ads we used to paper all our walls with in high school and is now pushing “Cocktails Perfected.” And who better to enjoy some cocktails than us!

Graciously sponsored by Absolut

The Alcohol Enthusiast’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade of Drunken Monkeyshines

San Francisco Enthusiasts, please join us this Saturday, March 17th for The Alcohol Enthusiast’s Annual St. Patrick’s Parade of Drunken Monkeyshines.

Don your finest greenery, wrangle your most iron-stomached drinking buddies, and meet us at LiPo Lounge at 1pm, ready to wrest this day from the amateurs and claim it in the name of true drunkards. From LiPo we’ll continue our parade through Chinatown to Red’s Place, then into North Beach where we’ll savor first the tropical atmosphere of Hawaii West. Because it’s St. Patrick’s Day after all, next stop is Maggie McGarry’s. And finally, a jaunt down Columbus to the ‘Nash (The International Sports Club), conveniently adjacent to Kennedy’s Irish Pub and Indian restaurant where we can enjoy some tasty solids with our liquid food.

The Cocktail Party

—Christian

With less than a year before the next presidential election, a political organization from down in Atlanta has a revolutionary idea for how to fix our country. Self-described as an “anti-movement,” this group of artists/poets/philosophers/etc. dubs themselves “The Cocktail Party” (cheers!). At their core, the group believes true political discourse has fallen by the wayside with our country suffering as a result. The solution? Cocktails, of course. And they provide some sound reasoning for this recommendation.
