Starting in the mid 1930s, mixed drinks that included distilled agave started to pop up and gain popularity. In fact, the 1937 Café Royal Cocktail Book includes not one, but 15 different tequila concoctions. Still, there’s not much agreement on story of the Margarita’s invention.
